Frequently Asked Questions

Can colours vary?

Cast stone and concrete colours may vary due to slight changes in the natural aggregates used and due to the handmade nature of our products.

How do I handle the product?

Careful handling is required and clean gloves should be worn when installing. When handling, take care not to put pressure on edges and corners which may be susceptible to damage. All items should be left for 48 hrs after sealing or glue before being planted or filled with water.

Can crazing occur?

Fine crazing can occur, this is called thermal shock and will self heal and occurs in most cement based products. It does not affect the structural integrity of the product. As with all cement based products there can be efflorescence (the migration of a salt to the surface of a porous material) - this will generally wear away over a period of time.

When should I seal the product?

Cabana recommends sealing of tables and water features as this will help protect the product from most stains and help slow the aging process. Sealing cannot take place until the product is completely dry including all mortar or glue joints. We recommend sealing the birdbath inside using either Cemix Ornamental Sealer or, if you require a watertight seal, Cemix Pond & Trough Waterproofer (available in black or blue).

Do you deliver?

Yes, we can deliver or freight product New Zealand wide. We pay particular attention to protecting the product when freighting.

Do you make custom designs?

Yes, we make our own moulds and would be more than happy to work with you to design your own masterpiece.

How long does it take to manufacture?

Many items are in stock. If made to order, it can take between 2-8 weeks depending on the product being manufactured.

Are all Cabana products New Zealand made?

Yes, we're proud to be NZ owned and environmentally responsible with all our products created in our workshop at Mangawhai constructed from local materials and made to last.
